Role: Creative Concepting and Copywriting
The Idea: At CES 2019, Facebook had the opportunity to show up differently than they had in past years. We used our HQ to create a conversation that helps us move forward and show how Facebook is turning good ideas into great opportunities. We invited guests to join us on this journey with activations specific to Instagram Stories, Messenger, Oculus, Video, and more.
Activation: Messaging Rotunda for Messenger and WhatsApp
Our Messaging Rotunda showcased the power of messaging to marketers in the new age of conversation. We had four suspended conversations that faced outwards to create a 360 degree installation and served as the starting point of messaging examples. Guests stood underneath a conversation starter to see how the Messaging would work in that instance. Each of these conversations showcased a different vertical and functionality.
Activation: For Good Spaces
As innovation improves our ability to connect, Facebook has more opportunities to make a positive impact, continue creating spaces for Good to grow, and encourage the community to come together. We created three For Good Spaces that highlighted Community, Impact, and Innovation across the Family of Apps and Services.
For Good Space 1: Community This or That Quiz
We helped guests gain knowledge of Groups and find their perfect Community Group based on their own personal preferences. The “This or That” style quiz guided them to a Community Group suggestion customized to their choices. We invited them to join the group as an opportunity to grow.
For Good Space 2: Oculus Go Lounge
This space was about the opportunities that come from innovation. Amongst soft seating we had Oculus Go devices untethered on a coffee table, inviting guests to demo and experience VR for Good.
For Good Space 3: Impact Lounge
Our Impact Lounge invited guests to sit and watch stories of impact made by everyday people, businesses, and Community Groups using the Facebook’s Family of Apps and Services for Good. As guests were inspired by these stories, we had stickers they could take with them to show their commitment to Good and energize others to get involved, similar to how the “I Voted” stickers did during the midterm elections.
Video: People are consuming more content now than ever. Whether it’s through quick consumption or long form, Video is seamlessly integrated into our every moment. The design of our space continued this trend, with multiple screens throughout playfully integrated into the graphics themselves. We dedicated the area flanking the right outside wall of the Stories Tunnel, to highlight specific video offerings (Watch, Polling Ads, Augmented Reality Ads and Stories Ads).
Additional spaces featured Oculus and Portal.
